Wineries Along the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail

During your next Ithaca getaway, we invite you to explore America’s First Wine Trail, featuring a dozen wineries along beautiful Cayuga Lake. Travel along the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail and sample the award-winning wine that has earned over 6,000 national and international medals over the years! Start your journey at La Tourelle and experience a taste of the Finger Lakes. Visit all the wineries along the trail or just a few; it’s up to you!

Stop One: Ithaca Wineries

The first stop on the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail is Six Mile Creek Vineyard in Ithaca, just a few miles from La Tourelle! As one of the oldest wineries along the trail, they have crafted a wide variety of white, red, and sweet wines to please every palette. 

Next on the list is Americana Vineyards, located in Interlaken, twenty minutes from Ithaca. 

Stop Two: Ovid Wineries

Just over half an hour from Ithaca, you can visit four wineries on the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail in the charming town of Ovid, including: 

  • Hosmer Winery: This winery grows its grapes in a 70-acre vineyard to produce premium wine grapes for various vibrant varietals. 

  • Thirsty Owl Wine Company: Enjoy estate-grown wines with a breathtaking view of Cayuga Lake at this Ovid winery!

  • Cayuga Ridge Estate Winery: Experience estate-grown wines and delicious food in a rustic barn setting here.

  • Six Eighty Cellars: This winery prides itself on using unique processes to create wines not usually found in the Finger Lakes, like Pinot Munier and Chenin Blanc.

Stop Three: Romulus Wineries

Less than a half mile from Six Eighty Cellars, continue your wine tasting at Buttonwood Grove Winery in Romulus:

  • Buttonwood Grove Winery: Experience an elevated tasting experience at Buttonwood with vineyard-grown wines, spectacular lake views, and live music. 

  • Knapp Winery: This Finger Lakes winery brings 40 years of tradition and innovation to every glass—a fantastic setting for wine tastings, live music, and dinner. 

  • Swedish Hill Winery: Visit this family-owned winery for a relaxed place to enjoy wine tastings with over 50 different wines available!

 

The last stop on the wine trail is Montezuma Winery in Seneca Falls. Or extend your trip by returning to Ithaca on the east side of Cayuga Lake and stopping at Long Point Winery in Aurora.

Final Stop: La Tourelle in Ithaca
